BlepharoplastyScottsdale, AZ

Blepharoplasty, more commonly called eyelid surgery, is used to rejuvenate the eye region and remove a tired or baggy eye appearance. For upper eyelids, incisions are hidden in the lid crease and excess skin is removed.

As Dr. Malek and his team are some of the top providers of some of the best results in blepharoplasty Scottsdale has to offer, they utilize newer techniques to lengthen the upper eyelid to eyebrow distance, creating a more youthful arch and shape to the eye. This technique avoids the traditional post-surgical hollowed appearance and recreates the atomically youthful eyelid and brow complex.

The convexity of the eyelid and brow complex reflects light, lending brightness to the eyes—the highlight and focal point of the face. The recovery for the eyelid surgery procedure is 1-2 days, with bruises fully dissipating after one week.

Lower eyelid surgery entails either tightening skin by removal through an invisible incision under the lower lash line or laser resurfacing if the skin is textured or finely wrinkled. Fullness of the lower eyelids due to fat herniation is addressed by removal or redistribution of the fat pads with tightening of musculature to improve lower eyelid support.

This tightening creates a firmer, more youthful appearance.

The eyes and brows function together, bringing expression and warmth to the face. Treating both areas may be the best way to restore the fresh, vital look we associate with youth.

Procedure Details

Dr. Malek and Dr. Khan will fully evaluate your underlying facial muscle and bone structure, overall facial balance, and the symmetry of your eyebrows and their relation to your forehead, nose and eyes. As plastic surgery is both a science and an art, it is imperative that any eyelid surgery is performed by a highly experienced, board-certified plastic surgeon so the results achieved look natural, rather than artificial or stretched. As Phoenix and Scottsdale plastic surgeons, Dr. Malek and Dr. Khan, are some of top providers of blepharoplasty Scottsdale and Phoenix have to offer, they are the clear choice when considering a blepharoplasty.

Prior to the procedure, precise markings will be placed to indicate exactly where excess tissue will be removed. Incisions are made in the natural fold of the eyelids to avoid visible scarring. These incision locations can vary, depending upon the unique physiology of the patient. On the lower lid, the incision is often placed on the inside of the lid.

Tissue is removed through these incisions using various surgical tools. The eyes themselves are protected from damage throughout the procedure. Self-dissolving sutures, removable sutures, or tissue adhesives are applied to the incisions.
