After attending medical school at the University of Arizona , he continued his education in Kansas City , where he completed his 5 year general surgery residency at the University of Missouri in Kansas City . He then performed his fellowship for Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery with two more years of training at Wake Forest University , Bowman Gray School of Medicine. He is proficient in aesthetic, reconstructive, hand and microsurgery as well as craniofacial and maxillofacial surgery. Dr. Malek is Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. In addition, he is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Medical Association and the Arizona Medical Association.
