Male Breast Reduction (Gynecomastia)

It is not uncommon for some men to have fullnes in the breast region. This can be attributed to exposure to certain hormones or medications throughout adolescense and beyond. The result is a poorly outlined pectoral region which can make some men self-conscious about their appearance. It is usually not possible to treat this without surgical intervention. Male breast reduction can remove excess fatty tissue as well as actual fibrous breast tissue which resides under the nipple. This can be done through a small puncture for liposuction or through a semi-circular incision at the lower margin of the areola to allow for direct surgical removal of tissue. Scars are minimal and quite invisible after a period of healing. Results are highly satisfactory and restore definition to the pectoral muscles.
